A 31-year-old Alabama man may face up to 25-35 years in prison after he pleaded guilty on Thursday of posing online as mega pop star Justin Bieber. He would use this false online identity to try and lure young girls into chat rooms where he would then attempt to persuade them to send him inappropriate photos. The man also pleaded guilty to producing child pornography.
According to authorities, Christopher Patrick of Montgomery, AL would allegedly promise young girls free tickets and backstage passes to Bieber concerts if they in turn would agree to send him inappropriate photos or webcam videos of themselves.

Another indictment alleges that Gunn would also pose as the "new kid in town" on social media sites like Facebook, and once he gained a young girl's trust he would solicit embarrassing information about them, threating to release such private info if the girl refused to send him elicit photos.
According to U.S. Attorney George L. Beck, Gunn targeted girls between the ages of 9-16. Gunn's plea includes two counts of making child pornography, 15 counts of interstate extortion, and seven counts of internet stalking. Authorities believe Gunn's criminal actions took place from 2009 until 2012 - FBI agents seized a cellphone and a laptop computer containing images and videos of child pornography from Gunn's home in March 2012. In a statement, Beck claims the evidence seized includes explicit photos of young girls from a number of states including Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana.
Authorities refer to Gunn's case as a far-ranging "online sextortion scheme." The FBI is currently looking into finding other Gunn victims throughout a number of other states including Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and California.
