Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are undeniably one of Hollywood's hottest couples--even non-fans cannot deny the 18-year-old "Boyfriend" singer's super-dynamic career that not only includes tons of chart-topping tracks, blockbuster fragrances, book deals, a give-back philosophy and more, not to mention his 20-year-old girlfriend's successful ability to play more than a triple-threat game with her singing, acting, fashion design and fragrance projects. They even have their own name: Jelena. A power couple Bieber and Gomez most certainly are!

So it's no surprise that they were spotlighted on Billboard's recent top ten list of "The Most Powerful Music Couples." What may be a bit shocking and hard to "Believe" (shout-out to Biebs' Billboard No. 1 album) is that they barely scraped by on the roster, with their number eight placement.

Who could possibly have more romantic and influential clout than Bieber and Gomez, who were lately rumored to be on the verge of break-up but now seem stronger together than ever. Gossip columns explode at their every PDA-packed move; fans shriek and squeal at the very sight or sound of them; and Bieber's Twitter following is through the roof, with a crush of Beliebers hanging on each of his 140 characters.

Plus, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have caused collective sighs with every new story of one of their dreamy dates--be it an extravagant Staples Center screening or a simple picnic or fast-food pick-up.

The kings and queens of country, though, hold the crown--make that cowboy hat--for Billboard's most powerful couples with Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood at the number-one spot and Tim McGraw and Faith Hill taking third place. While these pairs are significantly less prominent in the current "Hollywood" scene than Jelena, and certainly less popular among the teeny-bopper set, they do still have serious status. But they certainly don't really seem like the first matches that come to mind when it comes to hot celebrity-dom.

The music moguls that are Jay-Z and Beyonce perhaps should have occupied first place, but they were second. And the newly engaged Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne were fifth. How did they beat Bieber and Gomez?
