Selena Gomez se enfrenta a un nuevo reto. Esta vez no sólo protagonizará, sino que será productora ejecutiva de una serie para Disney Channel.

‘Los hechiceros de Waverly Place’, serie de mayor éxito ganadora de múltiples premios Emmy y BAFTA, está listas para regresar en un emocionante y nuevo especial televisivo que comenzará a producirse este mes en Los Ángeles. 

Selena, actriz y cantante, ejercerá la producción ejecutiva y será la protagonista junto con Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone, Maria Canals-Barrera, David DeLuise y Gregg Sulkin, todos repitiendo los papeles que popularizaron en la serie. 

Gary Marsh, Presidente y Chief Creative Officer Disney Channels Worldwide, afirmó: “Con los fenomenales ratings del final de Los hechiceros de Waverly Place este año, quedó claro que los fans de la serie no estaban listos para decir adiós a Selena y el resto del elenco. Por lo tanto, ¡estamos encantados de que hayan acordado reunirse nuevamente para llevar a sus seguidores a una última gran aventura!”. 

La famosa serie es una de las más exitosas en la historia de Disney Channel. Su estreno en Estados Unidos fue en 2007 y, desde entonces, estuvo al frente de los ratings en todo el mundo. Durante el primer trimestre de 2012 superó los 175 millones de telespectadores únicos en 163 países. 

El estreno del especial, de una hora de duración, está previsto en EE.UU., para comienzos de 2013.

La trama lleva a la familia Russo y a sus amigos hasta la Toscana, en Italia, donde se reunirán con familiares a quienes hace años no ven. Pero cuando Alex (Selena Gomez) intenta demostrar que es más que una joven hechicera aparentemente despreocupada, sin quererlo conjura un hechizo que crea una 'Alex buena' y una 'Alex malvada'.

Cuando la maliciosa Alex se ve envuelta en el plan de un encantador joven hechicero que busca apoderarse del mundo, 'Alex buena' debe encontrar la manera de salvar a su familia y a la humanidad, lo cual conduce a una monumental batalla entre las dos versiones de sí misma, ¡todo en la cima de la Torre de Pisa!

No son raros los casos de jovencitas que al pasar a la vida adulta se transforman en mujeres más delgadas, o al contrario, lo que normalmente les causa muchos problemas.
